AVID STUDENTS OF THE MONTH:  Congratulations to October’s winners.  The AVID Students of the month are Christian Quintanar, Lauren Mosqueda, Kelly McDaid, and Maher Rahid.  You are what Capuchino and AVID are all about, Nice Job!

 

STUDENTS:   NEW for the kitchen...the *P.O.S.* system is up and running.  All students will be able to swipe their student body ID card or manually key in the number. Additionally, money can be added to your card from home or bring in cash or check to add money to your account. You won't have to search for loose change in your bags or pockets anymore. Look for more information on the school or district websites.

 

STUDENTS:  Do you have a knack for public speaking or would you like to try out your skills?  Then consider entering the Lions Club's 73rd Annual Student Speakers Contest. This year's topic is "Universal Healthcare-How will it affect us?" See Ms. Lynn for more information about entering this contest.  It is open to anyone in grades 9-12.

 

CLUBS:  The Arab American Student Union will meet at lunch in D4 each Thursday.

 

Peace Club meets today at the beginning of lunch in FPA-3, Ms. Truman's room.... Newcomers welcome!

Anime Club meets at lunch in P17.

 

The French Club meeting on Monday at lunch in room A-205 is very important. All members should attend. We will be taking the yearbook photo. Don't miss it.


Schools for Schools Updates!
1. We have raised 850.00 for our Schools For Schools Projects; Please help us reach our goal of $5,000.00 by December. How? You can buy a T-shirt for a reduced rate of $15.00 today in the Spirit Court. Bring cash please.
2. Please wear your Schools for Schools T-Shirts, today to show our unified support for awareness of global issues. Yeah!  There will also be a meeting at lunch in B4 today.
3. We are having a Book drive--please look for the Big Yellow boxes around school--we will accept books in good or new condition to fill the shelves in Ugandan School Libraries. This will be running through January.

Don't miss these great GATE events! 

1.) Oregon Shakespeare Festival Performances at school on Friday, 11/13.  Ms. Panda sent you your own personal pass to this event. If you did not receive it visit her in P-20.

 

2.) Alcatraz, Ghiradelli and Musee Mechanique Fieldtrip on Thursday, 11/19.  We are getting a private tour of the secret passageways in Alcatraz, very cool!

 

3.) Fieldtrip to see the David Mamet play, "November" at the American Conservatory theatre on Saturday, 11/14th.  GATE and Non-GATE students are invited to come but Non-GATE students must pay for their ticket.
